Perhaps the most iconic AT launcher family of all, the RPG-7 series has its latest entry with the V2, adopted by the Russian Ground Forces in 2001. Cheapness, effectiveness and durability have led to the unparalleled popularity of older models, which the V2 aims to improve on. The RPG-7V2 can be outfitted with telescopic as well as night vision and red dot sights. The effective range of the missile can reach almost a full km – but the RPG-7V2 generally loses its accuraccy rapidly outside of 200m, as the shape of the warhead responds counterproductively to the influence of wind. The RPG-7V2 can fire PG-7VL HEAT rounds effective against most vehicles, PG-7VR for specific usage against armor equipped with reactive armor blocks, TBG-7V thermobaric warheads for anti-personnel use, as well as OG-7V fragmentation warheads.
